It will be held on August 29-31, 2023, at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City with Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) and the Water Districts Association of Region VI (WADIA-6) as hosts.
The theme of the event is Accelerating Growth Strategies for Sustainable and Resilient Water Districts. The goal is to find and apply growth strategies that enhance both sustainability and resilience in the water districts. The event will also discuss numerous ways to use technology, innovation, finance, and governance to support sustainable and resilient water management. The 2023 PAWD Convergence will highlight the importance of accelerating growth with sustainable and resilient practices to ensure the long-term survival and success of water districts.
The Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) is the national umbrella organization of local water districts in the Philippines. PAWD has more than 500-member water districts, covering about 70% of the total population of the Philippines. These water districts are government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) that operate under the supervision of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), a specialized lending institution for the water sector.
PAWD aims to provide a platform for cooperation, coordination, and advocacy among its member water districts and to represent their interests and concerns in various forums and policy-making bodies. PAWD envisions itself as a dynamic and responsive organization that contributes to the attainment of universal access to safe, adequate, and affordable water supply and sanitation services in the Philippines.
